Types of Notifications

Web Application - There are 2 main types of ExpertConnect notifications. One is for activity inside an existing ticket, and the other is for net new activity, like a new ticket being created. These notifications are automatic and do not need to be turned on.

  • Alerts for new activity show across the top of the screen. In the example below you can see there have been 5 missed calls and 1 new ticket has been created.  A close-up of a message

  • Alerts to new activity in an existing ticket are in the actions column on the dashboard. In the example below you can see that a new message has been posted inside of the existing ticket.

Web Browser

  1. Browser Notifications  - A notification from Chrome or Edge that notifies the user of any ticket activity. This will include notifications of unassigned tickets, customer responses, and when there is an incoming call. I have attached a help article here that walks through the process of ensuring that browser notifications have been turned on.

How to enable App Push Notifications:

Android users –  Here is a link that shows how to enable push notifications for Android uses.

iPhone users – Go to your Settings > Click on Notifications> Find the ExpertConnect app from the list and click on it> Toggle on Allow Notifications.

  1. SMS Notifications – A text message alert to notify you of a missed call, or when a new text or email ticket has been created. They come through as a normal text message. These messages are automatically turned on for the app, and can be disabled in the User Profile. The help article for Mobile app that was linked above will outline how to disable SMS Notifications.
